Flickr Photo Editor

Soooo... I have heard about it, even opened it... But for the first time last night, I have tried the Flicker Photo Editor that's built in the page for the first time with impressive results...

It was a late night and I really wanted to submit my shot right then, but I knew it didn't feel complete... I planned on editing it with Photoshop and/or Gimp, maybe crop it, didn't really know where this was going... I loved this shot, but didn't quite like it, if that makes sense! It's a gorgeous outfit, nice background, lighting wasn't too bad, but I found it cold and it had more empty space than it needed...

I figured I could already play with the cropping straight on the page, that would be a starting point... Then I thought why not try and play with those editing features a little, see what it's like in there... So the first step to checking it out is finding it! You can find the editor with a few more options that you may or may not already know...

Delete is pretty useful when you don't want to go in the Organizr every time you need to delete one shot...

Replace I wrote about because I think it's so darn useful!

Rotate is, well, either very well known by the blogging community or it'll save them a lot of time to know they can do it on the spot.

And finally the Photo Editor :

It has a pretty simple and straightforward layout, very easy to use. I also like that the background is the same color as the website, it gives you the right idea of what it'll look in there.

Of course you can always check out Flickr's instructions but they are very simple! Just play with sliders, hit the back arrow if you don't like... Save once you are done... They'll even give you the option to replace the shot or make a duplicate in case you need the original too since once replaced, you cannot recover the older one.

It's worth trying and playing with the features as they always differ from one media to the next... I really adore Photoshop, but I find myself going back to Gimp for some Bloom or other specific effects (and a little bit of a feel good moment, as I would only use this program for so long!)

You can also easily find text or video tutorials that'll inspire you!

Enjoy!
xx
